The yunnan lar gibbon is a subspecies of the lar gibbon which was found in the south of the Chinese province of Yunnan.

Searching for the yunnan lar gibbon, which is distinguished by its long reddish hair, has proved inconclusive.  Now it is feared that this subspecies has become extinct.
